Cultural Sensitivity in Design Award
The Cultural Sensitivity in Design Award celebrates property developments, architects, and designers who thoughtfully incorporate Bali's rich cultural heritage, traditional architecture, and natural environment into their designs.
The award recognises projects where exterior architecture, interior design, landscaping, and surrounding spaces work in harmony with Bali's unique identity, while respecting local traditions, community values, and the role of the Banjar.
Beyond aesthetics, this award celebrates developments that demonstrate how thoughtful, culturally sensitive design can create beautiful, functional spaces while preserving the character and spirit of Bali.
One winner will be selected by an independent judging panel based on submitted project documentation. There are no fees to nominate, be judged, or win.
Who can enter
Architects, interior designers, developers and firms.
Eligibility. The common eligibility gate for the entering firm. Project photos and design drawings are required; a banjar or desa adat letter is optional. Detailed eligibility is pending legal validation.
What the panel looks for
Track Record and Reliability. Documented delivery against commitments, disputes disclosed and how they were resolved, and client outcomes backed by documents.
Transparency and Disclosure. Fees in writing, who pays stated, conflicts disclosed, and clear contract terms.
Reviews. Cleared client and peer reviews. Up to ten count, verified reviews with proof carry more weight, and specific transaction detail matters. Shares, likes and follower counts are never scored.
What disqualifies
A nominee is disqualified only on a final criminal conviction related to the matter, whatever the score. An accusation, an open case or an unresolved dispute alone does not disqualify.
Finalists and the winner
One winner is named in this category. Five finalists are announced on 18 January 2027, and the winner is revealed at the gala on 18 February 2027.
